Endemic Primate-watching (3D2N)
Java has 4 endemic primate species that are found nowhere else on earth: Javan gibbon can be seen on the image (Hylobates moloch), Javan surili (Presbytis comata), Javan langur (Trachypithecus mauritius), and the nocturnal Javan slow loris (Nycticebus Javanicus). With a bit of luck, all of these species can be seen in the province of Central Java. This primate-watching tour takes place in 2 different places near the city of Pekalongan, a ~4-hour drive from Yogyakarta. To potentially see all species we need to stay at least 2 nights near the area. (While looking for primates we will most probably see other small wildlife and birds as well).
Day 1:
• Pickup at hotel
• Transport from Yogyakarta to Central Java (~4 hours via toll road or by train)
• Overnight in Central Java
Day 2:
• Early morning leave for the forest (1.5-hour drive)
• Full day in the forest searching for primates and other wildlife
• Evening/night session searching for Javan slow loris
• Overnight in Central Java
Day 3:
• Transport back to Yogyakarta (arrival afternoon/evening)
