Who would guess that a historical village like this is just around the city corner? The Ultimate Javanese Cultural Tour in Yogyakarta brings us into a place where the culture and way of life is still preserved like centuries ago. During this half day experience, we are welcomed by a local kids’ theater performance that instantly connects us with the village spirit. We then get to learn and play along with the authentic Wayang Beber puppet performance, discovering a rare form of Javanese storytelling. The experience becomes even more special as we harvest mulberry ourselves and create paper, the oldest paper invented around 3,000 years ago. Finally, we learn how to write our name in Javanese on this handmade mulberry paper.
