Time to wake up early and dive into the pristine tropical rainforests of Central Java on an unforgettable Javan gibbon tour. Traveling by local safari jeep, we explore deep into the jungle in search of four different monkey species, including the endangered and endemic Javan gibbon. Along the way, we learn about the ancient forest ecosystem, its towering trees, and the incredible wildlife that calls this protected area home.
For lunch, we enjoy a unique local meal made from forest-grown plants, combined with traditional Indonesian ingredients and spices.
After returning to the city, the adventure continues in a more creative way. It’s time to unleash the artist within and design your own naturally dyed t-shirt, experimenting with different traditional Batik techniques and patterns.
Day 1:
• Yogyakarta hotel pickup at 11 am and drive to Pekalongan (around 4,5 hours)
• Arrive in the hotel, have dinner and take a rest
Day 2:
• Get up at 5.30am and drive 1,5 hour to the forest
• Drive/walk through the forest in search of Javan gibbon and other wildlife/birds
• Continue walking to the NGO basecamp
• Have a local snack and tea/coffee (the real wild luwak coffee!)
• Forest lunch
• Drive back to the city
• Batik workshop
• Dinner
• Back to the hotel and get some rest
Day 3:
• After breakfast leave back to Yogyakarta
• Drop off at your hotel
