The main focus of this experience is a single extraordinary species: the Javan Blue-Banded Kingfisher, a critically endangered bird recently rediscovered in several locations across Java. With an estimated population of fewer than 250 individuals left in the wild, every encounter is exceptionally rare and meaningful.
On this journey, we step into its natural habitat with care and respect, giving ourselves the best possible chance to observe or photograph the elusive Javan Blue-Banded Kingfisher in the wild. This is a true once-in-a-lifetime wildlife experience for dedicated birders and nature lovers.
Day 1:
• Transport from Yogyakarta to East Java (2.5 hours by train or ~4 hours by car/minibus)
• Dinner and overnight stay in East Java
Day 2:
• Early morning leave for the forest
• Full day in the hide waiting for the birds
• Evening transport back to Yogyakarta (2.5 hours by train or ~4 hours by car/minibus)
