We pick you up in your hotel after dinner and we drive to the north of the city where we there are several viewpoints of the Merapi volcano. We choose the best viewpoint depending on the current weather conditions and install ourselves to sit in front of the volcano to watch the eruptions while having a (hot) drink and a snack. Usually the eruptions happen a few times every hour but this is not guaranteed. We increase our chances by staying up there several hours to watch the lava coming out of the active volcano. Optionally we can watch the sunset first and then wait for the lava to become visible. Or we can go later at night and stay until sunrise.
Lava package:
• Hotel pickup (after dinner around 8 pm)
• 1-hour drive to the viewpoint point (depending on the location of your hotel)
• Get comfortable and wait for the lava to appear
• We provide (hot) drinks and traditional snacks
• We stay as long as you want but aim to get back to the hotel around midnight (depends on when the lava appears)
• Hotel drop off (around 12pm)
Sunset package:
• Hotel pickup (around 4 pm)
• 1-hour drive to the viewpoint point (depending on the location of your hotel)
• Get comfortable and wait for the sunset followed by the lava
• We provide (hot) drinks and traditional snacks
• We stay as long as you want but aim to get back to the hotel before midnight (depends on when the lava appears)
• Hotel drop off (before 12pm)
Sunrise package:
• Hotel pickup (around 10 pm)
• 1-hour drive to the viewpoint point (depending on the location of your hotel)
• Get comfortable and wait for the lava followed by the sunrise (around 5 am)
• We provide (hot) drinks and traditional snacks.
• We stay as long as you want but aim to get back to the hotel after sunrise
• Hotel drop off (around 6.30 am)
